The General Films management team has over 100 years of combined experience delivering innovative flexible film and packaging products that help our clients overcome their application challenges. Our managers believe in leading by example and take a hands-on approach that both our employees and our clients appreciate.
Tim Weikert, President
Tim is the second generation of Weikerts to run our company. He has worked in all aspects of the business for over three decades and oversees the development of corporate and product marketing strategies, and is involved in finance management. He has a BA in Marketing and a BS in Industrial Management.
Tom Granata, Vice President of Sales
Tom has over 33 years of sales and marketing experience and is responsible for the three divisions of General Films: Flexible Packaging, Bag-In-Box Systems, and Industrial Packaging. His duties range from strategy and planning to development of diverse sales operations. He holds a BS from Ohio University and has completed graduate work at Georgia Tech University.
Joe Sprouse, Operations Manager
Joe, a 10-yr veteran of the US Army, has over 30 years of operations management experience, in addition to 10+ years of sales / marketing experience. As Operations Manager, Joe is responsible for the extrusion, converting, maintenance, purchasing, and traffic departments as well as overall facility management. He has acquired an SQF Auditor Certification and is also a member of the General Films, Inc. Board of Directors. He has a BS in Business from the University of Alaska.
Chris Smith, Plant Manager
Chris brings over 25 years of experience in a variety of industries including automotive, consumer goods, and medical products. As a result, he is well versed in multiple Quality System certifications and Lean Manufacturing. In his role as Plant Manager, Chris focuses principally on our Extrusion and Converting departments overseeing their 24/7 operation. He has a BS degree from Wright State University in Organizational Leadership.
Howard Pottorf, Human Resources Director
Howard has over 32 years of human resources experience and is responsible for all aspects of HR at General Films. His duties range from strategic planning to recruiting for available positions. He holds a BA degree from the University of Illinois.
