Matt and General Films both found each other at the perfect time. Previously employed at CVS Pharmacy, Matt was yearning to find another career path for himself and his family.

Matt signed on with a temp agency that eventually placed him at General Films for a 3-month term. Matt’s experience was very positive, and the feeling was mutual for General Films.
 

“I just knew the fit was right. I enjoyed my co-workers, the company, the environment, and the people,” states Matt. So, you might say this was the perfect fit for Matt and his family, and now his work family.

Matt appreciates that his shift “teammates” get along very well. He states that enjoying the job and your co-workers not only makes your job more satisfying but adds to your quality of life. Matt also finds the multitasking aspect of the job - monitoring, maintaining, and quality control - intriguing and rewarding. Matt likes the diversity of the job and the fact that he can be super busy at times and, at other times, a little more laid back. In this case, variety is the spice of Matt’s work life.

But it’s not just about the positive atmosphere and camaraderie, the tangible benefits of working at GF, and those benefits suit himself and his family well. Benefits like rotating shifts allow for 3-day weekends every other week and quality insurance at a fair and competitive price.

Matt emphasizes that the open and transparent work environment is a welcoming value. Things like direct access to HR and even the president are a real plus and make him feel like he is part of the team and not just a number.
 

“I always have the feeling every time I talk to Tim, he is talking with me, not above me. That says a lot about his leadership and the company.”’
 

Matt and his wife married in 2017. During his free time, Matt enjoys woodworking, cooking, and relaxing with his family. Matt is also an avid ice skater and can be found at Hobart arena, where he enjoys and serves as a skate guard.
